I am from Port-au-Prince, Like my late mother and my father, I grew up with a lot of excitement and anticipation to visit the countryside.
The diversity and the rich culture, the food, the vegetation, the purity of our land, the beaches, and the people.
Miragoane
Most of the time overlook, Miragoane is one of Haiti jewel, the habitant of Miragoane are the most paisible, cultured and also welcoming people, lakes and rivers, are the charm, I have one of my dearest childhood memories from this part of the land, agriculture, and fishing are predominant.
Jacmel
Premye Me, kanaval Jakmel, this is the place of creativity and arts in our culture, Jacmel has its own cadence, rhythm, taste and colors, the nature in jacmel is greener, the fruits juicier, and it is also romantic, a paradisiaque feel, beautiful people, the cuisine in Jacmel is Michelin star all across the bord de mer.
Leoganes
Rara, band a pye, kleren, siwo kann, mango konn, Leogane is the heart of Haiti, it is the first big city in the outskirts of Port-au-Prince, everyone I mean everybody has been to Leoganes, almost a right of passage, the mystical ambience of the land is palpable.
Saint Marc
As Miragoane, Saint Marc is not to be underestimated, the ears of our land, half of the country commerce run through Saint Marc, one of the most reliable route to connect the country and exchange goods, the people of Saint Mec are welcoming.
Cap Haitien
Historical landmark, agriculture, the ancestors, Cap-Haitien is the lung of the country, the habitants are very proud souls, the second largest department is known for its beauty, history and opportunities.
I cherish to revisit one day with my husband, to explore my cultural heritage and background. Let me know if you have been to these places or plan to go one day.
