Are we threading?

Not ashamed here to state, since the beginning of this worldwide technological dominance and the evolution of tools and apps of our modern society, this is an unprecedented manner for me to have my footprint right in time with the other 70 million other users that sign up within less than a week to be part of the new social phenomenon that is @threads.

Back in college, I was very reticent to create an email, actually, the creation of my first one was never put to use back in high school, as a matter of fact, I started using email while attending University. I conceded only because I had to be in touch with my assignments and furthermore, when I finally decided to create my first ever social media presence the HI5 profile (which was back then on the PC) just to find out it was no longer in vogue, Facebook had arrived.

Overstrung to learn a new app, my decline persisted to sign up for the new trend for quite a long time until everyone and their mama had an account and talking about Facebook, it was a must to keep up and connect with friends and family.

Yes, you guessed it right when my decision to finally give in to embark on the Facebook journey, here comes Instagram, this period is quite important in everyone’s social media lifespan, Instagram definitely has an enormous imprint section in the history book of the 21st century since it was the first social app I was introduced by using my phone and not a PC; Quiet often in my daydream periodic session I keep myself thinking what if none of these social apps were ever created. Also, What did the elders and our grandparents do in their spare time, and who influenced them? How did they know what to wear, how they kept in touch with friends and family?

My older brother whose only social app he uses is WhatsApp is one of the few specimens of Generation X who has avoided this new social technological world, I must admit he has a very subjective approach to social media, nonetheless love it or hate it these social apps have subsequently become part of the world communication culture, and a significant contribution to our source of information.

And here we are in full July 2023, Meta has introduced a new app @threads, and the amount of traffic has infuriated the competition and has created even more curiosity to sign up for the app.

I am threading and thriving okay. An honorable mention: I would most definitely change or correct if the opportunity presented to go back into the social world time is to take these social apps more seriously than when they first appeared. My love for Fashion, Beauty, and writing, and the immense work and experiences with influential content I have kept private, now impacted my views on how newness and change can sometimes be for the better.
